If you have made it to week 8, you are well on your way to your goals, and your will have already started making some type of income from your training in the previous 7 weeks. This 8 week course is just one part of the education available at Wealthy Affiliate.  So, if you are looking for a laid out plan to follow, so  that you can be successful on the net, then I wouldn’t recommend any other course.

Sure, there are others, but the usually cost more, give you far less, and are not as organized.  In the beginning, I made the mistake of thinking I needed multiple other resources, when WA had all I needed to get started.

If you focus on the training, you will see results. Yes it takes work, and determination, but doesn’t anything worth having?

There is nothing much more that I can say to convince you of the importance of this part of the training, it’s what will help you maintain your income and grow it exponentially. Research and testing is a very integral part of internet marketing, if you don’t know how to do it properly, you will have mediocre success.

Week 6 deals with the ever elusive building up of a mailing list.  This is where you get your long term income from, building a relationship with your list, so that that trust your advice and thus, you can recommend products or create your own, to promote to your list.

Not junk though, and it’s not as easy as saying “hey, sign up for my list” , there is definitely a method to this, and Kyle and Carson cover it greatly in this weeks training.

Providing quality customer service
Email marketing
Creating squeeze pages that convert (with examples)
Which autoresponder to use
Effective communication skills

All of these are the pieces that make up the mailing list puzzle, and each one is very important to the whole process. There is a lot to learn, and trial and error is always a part of building your list.  However, you get a very good start and will be able to begin building your list immediately after going through the training provided in week 6.

Now that I think about it, I may have to go back through it!

During week 5,  you start learning some skills that will help establish the foundation of your business. The key points learned during this week are:

Creating free marketing campaigns (how to structure them)
Creating paid marketing campaigns
Organizing your campaigns using WA tools
Creating long term income
Should you become a merchant?

You even get a nifty little flow-chart to help you better understand how to manage your campaigns

needless to say, you could very well already be making money by this point, and you are getting into the tools and techniques that will keep you going for years to come.

I also started participating in the forums a lot more by this time, however, too much time on a forum and not enough work is also something you will have to balance. All in all, the 8 week plan is turning out to be pretty good, and gives a great foundation upon which you can build your business.

This new tool is summed up in one word AMAZING!!! Yeah, I know there are other tools out there that do this, but, they cost a lot more, especially the good ones, you can look at paying upwards of $50+ or more per month, just for this same service which is now part of the Wealthy Affiliate membership.

This week deals with setting up your web presence, no matter how you plan to do it, if you have your own product or you are just promoting others, how you setup your web presence will equate to how well your bank account starts to fill up.

It’s not enough just to through a website online and expect to make money, unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that, and if it did, everybody would be doing it.  Some good nuggets in this one here I must say, most of it I had already discovered by moving ahead, I setup my hosting and websites the first week, so this stuff wasn’t new to me.  But I do plan to go back over the lesson on squeeze pages.  I’m in week 6 now, so this week 4 stuff seems like such a long time ago, but I plan to go back through the entire 8 week plan, picking out the topics I want to learn more about.

Because I see this a lot, and, have been guilty of it myself, I want to put together a list for you to help keep you focused an on track.

• Information is good, but moving from info to info to info to info will do you no good, you must put what you learn into practice, it’s the only way to see progress
• don’t try to become an expert on all things, learn piece by piece and add to your toolbox
• setup a schedule, the Internet can be very distracting, know your goals and stick with them
• oh yeah, SETUP SOME GOALS and DEADLINES!! It’s much easier when you are working towards something
• Treat this as a job! That’s what it is, if you want to be successful you have to change you mindset, this is not just some random stuff you are doing online, it’s a business venture you are growing into a successful empire
• YOU ARE NOT HIM/HER, so don’t gauge your progress off of others, you have to know what success means to you, and work towards it. Yeah, so this guy is making $500 a day after 2 weeks, SO WHAT!!! All that means is that you know this stuff can work if you work it, you don’t know his situation or work ethic, all you know is they are making money, just buckle down and get your share.
• Stop being scared! Quit complaining about how much you don’t know and just use what you do. So what if your first website sucks! So what if you don’t know how to write an article. IM is just like anything else you want to be good at, it takes PRACTICE. That means keep doing it.

Well, I think that is enough to give you a good kick in the tush and motivate you to move forward. I know, I will be taking some of my own advice. Oh yeah, Kyle and Carson have a ‘TASKS’ application within Wealthy Affiliate that lets you track your goals and tasks…organization is key. well, things are moving along by now, I’m getting some sells and learning quite a bit, what I did notice though, is I am getting a little distracted by the various products available and crowding my inbox.  I am starting to do more and more research and less and less implementing, it is having an affect on my campaigns and my progress…

Yeah, we’re getting into the good stuff now!!! As you can see, if you just stay focused and go through the training, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!!  Now, you must know that everyone has success at different speeds and what is success for you may not be the same for me.  However the fact remains, if you go through this training, you will have the education needed to sustain yourself as an Internet marketer.

I’m learning through the more stuff I buy, how much more value I get in Wealthy Affiliate.  There is no fluff, no over hyped promises and no hidden secrets.  They (Kyle and Carson) truly want to see their members succeed and this is evident in the quality materials they offer.

So many times in the forum I see people with their success posts, some finally making $50 a day, which to them is great and it’s great to see…who wouldn’t want that?  Others celebrating their first $1000 day, and yet others their first $2500 day!! Yes, these are real people, I talk to them all the time in the forums, this stuff is real and it works, if you put in the work.

Don’t think it will just fall in your lap, you have to work and stay focused, but the end result is freedom and success!

Well, week 2 goes into a little more detail about Internet marketing, and helps you to start laying a proper foundation upon which to build  your business.  I learned about the various types of marketing and how to choose my direction.  I also learned about understanding the consumer and becoming an expert on an area instead of a generalist in many.

We also learned bout pay per click ads and squidoo.  No, I still haven’t used pay per click to this day, though, Kyle and Carson even give you a free $50 from yahoo! to start your campaigns.  Not to mention that during my second week I ACTUALLY STARTED GENERATING INCOME FROM IMPLEMENTING THE TECHNIQUES I WAS LEARNING.  For me this was big, I had just started, and we really hadn’t gotten into the details of much, but just from the primer courses in Internet marketing I was able to start seeing some money come in.

Needless to say, I was excited.  Oh yeah, I also started setting up my first website through WA hosting, not my first ever website, but the first one created solely for my business efforts. You can check it out here, it’s still a work in progress.
